I hope y’all are getting ready to bring in the new year with the ones you love and with lots of food!
Growing up in south Texas, my beloved state, my family would serve Tamales, mashed pinto beans, Abuelita hot chocolate, and my favorite Buñuelos. Buñuelos are flour tortillas rolled out thin, deep fried and lavished with a sugar cinnamon mix. I’ll have to take on this recipe soon for y’all.
Now that I’m living in the beautiful state of North Carolina, black-eyed peas are sure to be on our plate. Mmm, they are good with some fried corn bread! Ok, I’m getting hungry.
I’m just curious but what will you be having that’s a tradition on New Year’s? I’d love to hear all about it.
If you’re going out or staying in, I hope you stay warmed and fed.
